apply a moisturizer on your face, including your eyelids, and make sure to apply foundation and powder. Also, if the shadow is a wet/dry shadow, apply wet.

The eyeshadow probably isn't staying on very long because ther is a small amount of oil on your eyelids. Try dabbing your eyelids with an oil absorbing sheet (Clean and Clear works well). You could also just wipe it with a tissue.

Next, apply an eyeshadow base. You could also use coverup, powder, or a light foundation.

Some brands of eyeshadows just won't stay on. In my experience, I know Almay is great, as well as Covergirl, Revlon, and Maybelline. You will have to just try out several different kinds and get what works best. I would recommend Almay.

Good luck! ♥

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion. It's like concealer, but made specifically for your eyelids so your shadows won't crease. It makes blending shadows so easy, and the colors really stand out better, as well. It's only 14 dollars for a bottle, it's really worth it. M.A.C. also makes something called Paint, which is basically the same thing, if you don't have any shops that sell Urban Decay, you can get M.A.C. cosmetics in any Macy's.

First of all, put down a little concealer on your lids before applying shadow. Secondly, Revlon makes a wonderful ColorStay 12-hour eyeshadow, that actually lasts longer!!! It's incredible! And it comes in so many wonderful colors.

Try the concealer that you already use on your face, but on your eyes, too. Then apply the eyeshadow as usual. If you don't use concealer, get a very light eyeshadow color that is really close to your skin color. But the "skin" color one on first, then the color you want on top. Good luck

Use primer. If you don't want to buy a separate makeup, you can also use your regular facial foundation for this. It creates a base coat under the shadow that help keeps it from running and smudging.

You also want to look for oil-free cosmetics so your eyelids, and the rest of your face, doesn't get oily (greasy) during the day, which can also contribute to makeup not staying in place.
