I'm mean C'mon----WHEN will either the "Academy" or the "Golden Globes Committee" recognize REAL TALENT in their midst?
My opinion of Johnny Depp is not biased toward his looks but rather his acting ability.

Johnny Depp's time will come. Notice that most of the actors that win the Golden Globes, Oscars, etc. are cast in more serious movies, dramas, etc. Rarely are comedic actors in the running, and even though Johnny Depp did a fantastic job, he will have to wait. I love Jack Sparrow!!

I have given up on awards shows because they don't acknowledge the good stuff. I mean, how can you give a bunch of awards to movies that most of the country didn't even go watch? What is the criteria for a good movie? I would think it would be a product that actually sells .
Johnny has been a superb actor for so long, but he chooses films that the general population actually likes. People's choice awards are the only decent awards show that reflects what real people think. Who knows what the Hollywood crowd bases their awards on. It seems to be propaganda and political statements. Sick!

I'm not upset, despite the fact I am a fan.
The portrayal of Captain Jack Sparrow just wasn't that great in "Dead Man's Chest" Rather than giving us tons of quippy lines like in the first movie, he spent 3/4 of the damn movie screaming like a little girl and repeating the word "bugger".
Rather than giving us funny facial expressions and never ending hand gestures he was doing stupid slap stick humor. (Escape from cannible island, anyone? How stupid was the fruit scene?) It wasn't very funny...hence, I don't think he deserved an award for best actor in that catagory.
Bring back the REAL Jack Sparrow, not the crap we saw in the sequel! Dead Man's Chest was a cheap knock off of the original, that was aimed at naive teen fangirls.

No, I'm not mad at all.
In fact, I think he was lucky to have been honored with an Academy Award nomination last year---after all, there were other more "established" actors that got dissed. Why didnt Jackie Earle Hailey get a nomination for Little Children, hmmm? Look how long it took Denzel to get Best Actor.

He didn't win because he didn't show any REAL TALENT in Dead Man's Chest. He didn't show any talent at all. Every line he said was supposed to be hilarious, and it was just a lame copy from the first movie. Come on! Falling over isn't funny! Neither is squeezing the word "savvy" into every possible sentance. The rum jokes are way over.

that Borat guy sucks. He doesn't have any talent and Borat is a stupid movie.
Personally, i'm the biggest Johnny Depp fan there is (I own all his DVDs except for Arizona Dream :[ )
but anyway he has the most talent of any actor in Hollywood.

finally....I nonetheless think of he ought to have gained in Donnie Brasco. he's a large actor and that's intense-high quality to be attentive to that he wasn't exceeded up this time...Sweeney Todd exchange right into a large overall performance for him besides.
