Consider all of the car accidents and bridges falling down and all of the expenses of traveling: meals hotels gas and the time you lose because it takes so long in a car, and the exhaustion from all of the driving YES it is safe and you should definitely feel safer in a plane these days with all of the TSA checks at the airport.

Absolutely. I bet you know a dozen people who have been in a car accident and don't know a single one that's been in a plane crash or even an emergency landing. Air travel is very, very safe. It's just a little weird to not be in control and not be able to see where you are going.

I shall presume you refer to flying on a scheduled airline.

There is virtually no safer way to travel. Deaths per million passenger miles on scheduled airline flights is only a miniscule fraction of deaths per million passenger miles when driving in an automobile.

However, if you're talking about taking a crop-dusting flight on a 75 year old biplane the above comments do not apply, nor do they apply if you are taking a flight on Air Bangladesh.

More people die in car wrecks a year than you do in plane accidnets. I think that it is very safe now. Nothing has happened since 9/11 because they secrity is very good. It may be a little disturbing if you are afraid of flying but it is the best way to get to a place that is located far away.

There is the possibility of something on the plane failing, which would lead to the plane plummeting to the ground, most likely killing everyone on board. But hey what are the chances of that happening! Just hope you are not the one who's flight had an engine problem mid way through the trip.

I would never get on a plane. I have to be in control of my vehicle. After 9 / 11 I wouldn't feel safe.

I can say it is safe as I am not on the plane at the moment. If I were on it, I would die because of the ideas on my mind, the plane did not even have to crash or anythin.

I am very afraid of flying!
