Everyone needs to read the case about Steven Stayner/Timmy White. I put a link to the story. There was also a movie made about this kidnapping. Shawn has to be 1 brave young man.
why people put rude comments on the internet I will never understand. This family doesn't deserve this.

I seen that movie on Lifetime. I was telling my friends about it, scary how much a like these case's are. Not to change the subject, but did you know Stephens' brother Carrie was the guy who murdered those three people in Yosemite Park? It was a mother her daughter & her daughters friend. I wonder if he was messed up over what happened to his brother. I think everyone who thinks Shawn liked it their needs help. Imagine being 11 years old again. I was scard of everything, would I have listened to the sicko? I'll never know like a lot of people on this site. He's going to need a lot of help and people should back off and let him heal. Paris -cap I hated school too, but I bet anyone would take is over what he went threw.

Yeah, what an amazing story. He managed to survive all this time. We can never know how scared he was, but it must have been awful because he didn't dare to seek help. And it's over now. Thanks God for that and may God make this road towards heeling as easy as it can be. I really don't understand those people who think that no school and video games can persuade 11 year old boy to live with a total stranger without his family, friends...It's sick. I wish that he gets some peace now to be able to enjoy the time with his family. Have you heard that he will be Shawn Askers now? I'm just thrilled that this story has a happy end.

Amen, I totally agree with you. This poor kid will never be the same. When he first appeared on TV he had a look about him that was so sad and hollow. People need to remember he was 11 years old and at age 11 you have no concept of what to do except try and stay alive. Lets not even go there, why didn't he do this, why didn't he do that. He was a kid that was terrified and violated. Now he will carry shame that he didn't do something different. None of this is his fault in any way shape or form. God forgive anyone that would even suggest this kid could have or should have done anything different then probally just praying he could stay alive.

Everyone continues to speculate about why he didn't tell anyone. I really hope that the media will soon leave this family alone! It was so hard for Steven Stayner when hia family was barraged by the media.

Yep. It's much harder to be in the situation, than to hear about it and try and rationalize why he did or didn't do the things he did. His family must be so elated to have him back after so long a time.

In the end all that matters is that Shawn kept himself ALIVE. God Bless him and his family!

Mr. Devlin didn't make Shawn go to school, and let him play games all day. Think about it. When you were that age, wouldn't that seem like heaven to you?
