My top eyelid has a white bump on it. Not like on the lid itself, it's on the crease of where you're eye is, is it a serious thing like a cyst? Will my eye get all big and swollen?

It may well be a pimple and shouldn't have any effect on your eye. Treat it like one but don't squeeze it. Apply an acne medication, if you have one. Or you can choose to allow it to resolve on it's own. For everyone's information: Styes do not form in the crease and should NEVER be squeezed. This is not a skin tag, either.

It is a sty, which is a bacterial infection. There are a couple of rules for dealing with sties:

1. Don't try to pop it. Just don't.
2. Hot compresses 4 times a day. Use a washcloth with water as hot as you can reasonably stand. Hold it over your closed eye until it cools off.
3. Sties usually go away when treated with hot compresses. It may take a couple of weeks.

I also get them and have never had a problem with my eye getting swollen or anyhing.. If it seems to get bigger go to a dr or ER but otherwise I wouldn't worry about it.. My 6 yr old niece has a patch on her one eyelid of about 6 tiny ones all together.. at first we thought it was just pimples but it wouldn't clear up with normal pimple stuff and you have to be careful not to get the stuff in your eyes.. however she has had them for yrs i think they showed up when she was about 3 or 4 and they have never grown any bigger or caused her any eye problems..

It sounds like either a skin tag or a sty(e). Both are harmless, but they can be irritating. They usually disappear of their own accord. Your eye doesn't tend to swell when you have one of those, but if it's on the rim of your lid, it can occasinally rub.

It sounds like it is a sty, or something similar. I use a wet tea bag, and that seems to work. Keep it on as long as you can. Something in the tea draws it out. If it doesn't go a way in five days, then consult your doctor.

Does it "look" or feel infected ? Usually these little hard "bumps" are calcium deposits, very common and rarely cause problems. If you think it's getting infected, see your MD. Take care. SW RNP
