What year is it supposed to be? What year was season 1 supposed to be and what years are each of the other seasons?

The seasons take place roughly 18 months after the previous one, with the exception of this one, which is two years after season 5. If we assume that season one begins the year it was broadcast (2001), that would place Bauer in 2009. If it is supposed to coincide witht he upcoming presidential primaries, it would be in 2010 or 2011 by now

There is no year associated with the show to my knowlege. It's real time and they try to create a scenario that could take place today. I can tell you that this season is two years after last season ended.
