There have always been cetaceans in British waters from porpoises to large whales. The whales declined dramatically with the whaling industry but they are making a comeback.

There are a few species of porpoise and dolphin that have always frequented British waters, a few varieties of seal, too. I dont know if there have been any changes due to global warming but I dont believe the melting of the ice caps has had a measurable effect on the oceans overall salinity as yet.

Cetaceans have always been found around British coasts. Animals like sunfish (Mola mola) and turtles are turning up more frequently though.
