Would you leave your comfort zone for longer for more money ?
I work in mining on a 9 day on 5 day off roster, I have been offered a 21 day on and 7 day off which is twice as long away from home but worth about $150k opposed to the current $85k, would you leave your loved ones longer for the money?

Opinions please.

honestly you have to weigh the money you will be getting as apposed to the time away from family. If your family truly need the extra money to survive better than I feel that taking the higher paying more an hour job would be essentially worth it. Although if your financially making it alright then the differences in pay may not be worth the time away from family. Personally I would rather be with family than to have large sums of money in the bank.

Money is not everything
You are away long enough now
so don't make it any longer or you will drift apart & all the hard work will have been for nothing!!
the only way you could do it is just 4 six months & no longer if you desperately need money
see what your family think is the best thing really to do
all the best to you

I don' know. Think about the financial gain. $150K is going to put you in a much higher tax bracket. So you may not really be able to tell the difference in the salary. On top of that you will be doing twice the work. If you are not living on struggle street (struggling) I think you should stay where you are.

It depends on your financial situation and your home life. The money you make now is pretty damn good. If you're married and have little kids at home, I wouldn't. At least not right now. You can never make up those days lost with your family. I know the money sounds real good. God knows I would love to make that kind of money. But all that time away would be pretty rough.

Yes, because you enjoy more money in the long run and provide a better living for your family. It may not make a huge difference to you now but suck it up and the extra money will come in handy.

But first, make sure you discuss this with your family first to make sure you're all in agreeance with this new plan.

personally i just wouldn't ever want to work that freakin hard. if you love the work then its OK, but that doesn't seem to be in the equation here.
personally, if you are good with the money you are earning now then i would stay with yer loved ones. i think you might regret spending less time with people and doing too much work. life doesn't cost money but it does run out. what do you want to have spent it doing?

I would. If you save well that money or invest them to earn good return, you will be able to retire a lot sooner than anyone else and so you can make up the time you lost with the family.

Depends on if you have small children...like under 7, I would say no, more time with them.
If you do have kids but they are a bit older...I would go for the new schedule, the money will come in handy, help pay for their higher education.
If no kids at all....GO FOR IT

I really couldn't and wouldn't leave my loved ones for so long even if it were for one month only but I guess many people would go for the money.
