my first job was at mcdonalds, I was 14 yrs old, but you can only work 10-15 hours a week I believe, on weekends. Check with the closest branch to see if they even consider it, it would help if you knew some one who works there as a reference due to the age issue. You also have to get special paper work (at least in my state) in order to work at 14.

Depends on where you live. 14 is a legal working age in some states, if you have your working papers. At that age, you would not be able to work the grill, but you could clean or work the register. Check the McDonald's website and your state's workforce commission for more info.

No. think about this tho if you like kids. You can go to the red cross or your local YMCA and get your babysitting certificate. do a good job in that, then when you DO apply for a "real" job in a year or so, you will already have some good references and experience in a job that requires responsibility, reliability, and adaptability. Those are skills you will use no matter where you end up working! GOOD LUCK!

I don't think so, but you'd have to check with them directly.

I think Lou had a great idea about getting a certificate for babysitting. You could probably make more money doing that, too! It would be an excellent example of your demonstrated responsibility for your resume in a couple of years.

Why don't you try calling you local McDonalds and ask them? Or ask them when you go into a McDonalds?
