It's very sad. Men have the option of walking away, women don't. No matter what decision a woman makes about a pregnancy, she still has to confront it. There's certainly no denying the fact. There's nothing to say other than it's not fair and I hope that he comes around. For many men I believe they are in schock, they don't know what to do. They are afraid of the responsibility. Whatever his reason, just make sure that you do what YOU need to do. You can't make him be a father but you can make him contribute to the child's needs by taking him to court.

Well, first off your mistake wasn't in keeping your baby - that happening is a miracle and a blessing. Your mistake was getting involved with and having sex with a total loser of a guy before even thinking about whether or not he is a candidate for a long term relationship. You should see the movie Riding in Cars with Boys - talk about a pathetic way to live your life. What you need is a fresh start and a quality man - just get out of his life if he is a total loser like this and won't even recognize his own flesh and blood! The right man will love your child more than he ever will and can fill in alot of the gaps for him or her that loser dad - won't do.

I think its terrible to know you father or mother a baby but not want to take responsibility for it. He had a part in making the baby but he won't take care of it? Its stupid and its cowardly. Then again, I might understand his side. If he doesn't think he'd be a fit father or if he's having problems right now, it might not be the best time for a baby and maybe he knows it. Maybe he's just trying to do what's right for the baby. Still, it doesn't make it right.

I don't know the father so I don't think I'm fair to judge him completely but, I still don't think its good to ignore your baby. My mother abandoned me with my father and my father abandoned me with my aunt and uncle and its hard so I know how it feels to be fatherless and it isn't fun. Well, I hope it all works out for the best.

What do you mean by recognize him? Now that the baby's born he's denying he's the dad? Either take him on the Maury Povich show or get a Paternity test done!

Sounds pretty sorry. You can contact the Attorney General of your state and ask for child support. They will take up your case and in many instances have a paternity test done. By going through the AG you save yourself a lot of attorneys fees.

I have that same prob with the father of my 8 month old. He is also the father of my 6 yr and 4 yr old. He is just a jerk. He will come back and bite him in the butt someday. Good luck.

Go get child support. Go to the court or welfare agency, they will get a dna test to prove he is the father. You will have the piece of paper proving you are right, and money in your pockets for your son.

Good luck with the deadbeat.

He is an irresponsible bum...
Get a DNA test ( probably need to be court ordered )..
And make him pay child support...
Would have been a lot easier had you been married...

Quite frankly, he sucks. Contact your attorney general where you live and seek chils support, don't feel bad about it, it is his responsibility.
