I am kind of shaken because I dont want them to find anything in my blood and then tell me I cant have the baby. I have been freaking out since I took those tests. I dont want to worry too bad cause I dont want to lose my baby, but is it normal to worry like this or is it just me. She told me no news is good news so I am freaking out that I will get that phone call. Some one please help me relax and chill out. I have been ttc for 4 years. Thats another reason I am freaking out. Its like what is goin to go wrong now. This is too good to be true. Some one please reply.

i wouldn't worry unless you actually think you have a reason to worry. all the tests they are doing, including HIV is perfectly normal. and if something did show up chances are they wouldn't take you baby. unless you are a drug user that is. stay calm there well be more tests down the road too.

they are normal tests to do during pregnancy and usualy there is nothing to worry about.. usualy it is done very early in pregnancy so that if anything does come back the OB can give you the proper treatment right away to make sure that your baby is born as healthy as possible and make the pregnancy easier on your also..
I know its hard to not worry till all the blood work comes back however remember that stress is more harmfull to your unborn child than anything else most the time so just try to relax and not even think about the tests being done unless something comes back that needs to be treated then all you can do is deal with it the best you and with as little stress as possible.. I know thats easier said then done because no matter how much everyone told me i had to reduce my stress levels with my last child I couldn't and it caused alot of undue problems for both the baby and me..

Completely understandable, but these are normal tests that every pregnant woman has done. IF, and I do mean, IF they find something, they will not take your baby away. These tests are done because if you have a disease you can not have a vaginal birth. A vaginal birth increases the risk of the child contracting the disease from your blood possibly mixing with the babies during the birth.

Example:
If you have HIV/AIDS (they don't know about it) and you deliver vaginally, your child has a high risk of contracting it. Whereas, if they do know about it they can save your baby the most of the risk of contracting it by giving you a C-section.

Everything will be fine just relax and enjoy the pregnancy.

I just got those blood tests done yesterday as well and I am almost 5 weeks pregnant. Don't worry stay calm and if you have been trying for 4 years than see this as an amazing accomplishment. Most things found in your blood can be treated with medication. Unless of coarse it is extremely serious and in that case you probably would have already seen the sympotms of it.

Take care. Good Luck!

Just relax cuz when u stress yourself u stress the baby. But as long as u havent been having unprotected sex with a lot of people then u should be OK. The blood test results wouldve came back already cuz it only took 4 hrs for mine. So if u havent recieved a call then u r good. It is normal to freak out trust me i went to the hospital everytime i got a twitch just to make sure my baby was ok! But just as long as u dont bleed then u should be ok. And sometimes u just dont get pregnant. Me and my b/f had sex unprotected for 3 years b4 i got pregnant, and I am on my 2nd baby. You will be ok!!!

HIV is rare to find unless you have reason to contract it =/

If it's your hormone levels they can help you out with that by giving you meds to stimulate your thyroid

Other dieses they are looking to detect are mainly in you, not in the baby aka a yeast infection and other blood infection which generally speaking can be cleared up with antibiotics. They are also going to check if your anemic so you can be put on iron pills... which you should be taking anyway (prenatals with folic acid) but if you are severely anemic they may give you more iron to top it off.

Don't worry too much, docs these days are amazing.

That is normal to feel like that. I felt the same way with any test they took. But everything always turned out fine for me. I always worry the most when they did the AFP test, which is later on and taken to see if the baby has any problems. The ultrasounds were exciting but scary too. You are having normal feelings.

Take a few deep breaths. It is normal for them to do a screening for STD's. Why are you so worried, did you do something you shouldn't have or haven't told the docs about.?
You do need to relax though, what's done is done. You can't control it now, so just chill and I'm sure everything will turn out for the best.

Ok well for one thing nothing they are testing you for will prevent you from having a baby, though it may put the baby at higher risk, or require you to take special medication or have a c-section.

Most likely you will be fine and carry a healthy baby to term. However miscarriages are not uncommon either.

Nobody can guarantee that everything will be ok, but most likely it will and worrying never fixed anything ;)

The tests are all routine so just try to calm down. And she is right no news is good news. Everytime I had any type of test done during my pregnancy I was an absolute wreck. My dr even started calling me when the results were normal just so I would calm down.
Everything is going to be ok, just breathe deeply!

Congratulations on the pregnancy!
