What is up with all these THIN Celebrities???

Everyone is getting so thin... losing there curves.... What is going on???

Anorexia is apparently "hip", no pun intended. I like skinny, but not stick-figure skinny. I also like buxom, ala Marilyn Monroe or Betty Paige. You'd think people would be happy with this kind of range, but some make themselves look practically like Auschwitz survivors, and it sickens me to look at their bony ribs and legs.

I think it's because of the advent of HDTV. It's always been said that the camera adds 10 lbs. So imagine what that would look like in high-def? At least, that's what the celebrities think. It's the truth- I read this thing about plastic surgery for celebrities skyrocketing because they don't want to look wrinkly or old on HDTV, so it seems that it would follow that they also don't want to look even a little bit fat. Also, I think celebrities are the most insecure group of people out there- the way they seek everyone's approval and everything, so they probably just have a bad self-image to begin with. The nasty stories in the tabloids don't help, but I will be really glad when TV is no longer ruled by stick figures, and size 6 girls like me can go back to feeling normal and thin, instead of heifer-like compared to Nicole Ritchie and that Chinese lady from Grey's Anatomy.

The reason why these celebrities are getting thinner is because they think that the skinner you are the more likely you are to get better movie roles. For example, the actress Britney Murphy, in Clueless, she was average weight (noone knew her then), but she lost weight and got skinny and now she has all these movie roles. It's a sad fact that the movie studios offer better roles to the skinnier(and younger) girls in Hollywood. Plus people in Hollywood have a weird perception that the skinnier you are the better looking you are, and they seem to get all these compliments from everyone once they are skinnier.

it's always been that way. Everyone wants to be thin but now they're just taking it to a extreme. Some celebrities think that you have to be anorexic to look good. It's a stupid fad and teens girls are trying to be like their favorite stars. In turn those girls go anorexic too. It's sad because no one looks good when their that thin. They should just learn that looks aren't everything it's your personality too.

The skinny look is not a new phenomenon. I think maybe it started getting popular in the 60's with the likes of supermodel Twiggy - and it hasn't stopped from there. It's just a look that certain people seem to like. I have no idea why though, seems very unhealthy. :-/

Hollywood has gotten retarded. Who in their right mind wants to look like a popsicle stick? That's why I don't look up to these celebs because they always do the dumbest things and expect us average, normal people to follow them. The next thing you know, celebrities are going to be telling us that school is not important and we shouldn't go. We should just be beautiful and become a movie star.

Well look at every magazine today. The message is "Get thin or Get out! Its ridiculous! I can not believe people have not changed this message! I sure hope someone lets these young people know that this is not perfection!!

I know what you are saying....they all need to eat. Look at Jessica Alba....she use to have great curves but now she is as thin as a rod.

It is what is fashionable but in no way is reality. Those girls are anorexic to be able to look that way. I used to be really skinny too when I didn't eat. Not that I am fat, but now I actually have a figure (because my husband is a GREAT cook).

there's just so much pressure to be thin in Hollywood, and they let it go to their heads, so they keep thinking they're fat, and try to lose more weight, and soon enough they are so thin they weigh less than their cat.
