If I am looking for a laptop what others are there? IBM is Chinese and Sony is Japanese, Toshiba is Japanese, what other American laptop manufatures are left. It has nothing to do with not buying foreign products but I need to help out these boys anyway I can.

No matter what you do you will be supporting a foreign country. Even if assembly (such as Dell) is done in the USA, all the parts are foreign. You are going the wrong way about buying a laptop. You should look at needs and features, not what country its made in.

Also take into consideration that you buy a Dell. That's an American company with their laptops being assembled int he US. Their parts are from China/India or so on. They also have outsourced their helpdesk to India and so on. People need to realize that this is a Global Economy and we cant play by the rules of the olden days.

For instance if you were to buy a car, would you get a Chevy (US Company) that is made in Canada, or would you get a Honda (Japan Company) that is made in the USA?
