The Cyprus conflict, which began about fifty years ago has taken lives from both Turkish and Greek Cypriot communities. Recently, a UN initiative known as the Annan Plan was put to referenda but was rejected by 75% of Greek Cypriots, while 64% of Turkish Cypriots voted in favor of it. Greek Cypriots say that they had doubts about the plan. Turkish Cypriots on the other hand, voted positively despite the fact that it would have meant giving back a lot of land and becoming refugees/immigrants once again. It is a very complicated issue and it is not possible to satisfy either one side completely.

Why do you say Turk Cypriots are against "becoming refugees/immigrants once again" - from what I have heard - the Greek Cypriots got pushed out of their homes? And didn't the major land grab occur in the mid-70's not 50 years ago? If you are trying to write a paper or something you need to get better facts, I don't think this sounds right.

If you stole it does not matter how long you got to use it.You stole it so give it back or there will be war. That land was stolen from the Greeks,if they still had their Spartans there would be no need to ask for it back.
