What kinda question is EMPIRES. We are not in Roman Times. Although Greece is Southern in the Mediterranean and I have been to Rhodes from Athens and Crete that is the farthest island North. It was beautiful. Turkey is North of the Mediterranean and Asia is East right? I want to go to Egypt this year.

There have been several empires around the Mediteranean. Phoenicia, Carthage, Rome, Byzantine, Islam, Venice, were Ottoman the main ones.

It could be Rome, Egypt, Greece, Byzantine, Persia or Spain (Although I'm not sure they ever had an empire... they were a colonial power similar to Britain which did have an empire)
