It's difficult to "ruin family relationships" unless the man passively accepts it. &, one should never be pressured to make a "choice" between family & spouse, both being equally important. I'm curious that these tendencies weren't obvious before the marriage. A "trouble maker" will continue to be so, as long as they can get away with it. Compromises are ALWAYS necessary in a marriage, but not the to the extent you imply. Sometimes, the wife simply isn't "accepted" by her husband's family, & unless there's more to this than you've expressed, she does have the choice of "keeping her cool," being civil IN SPITE OF. Hard to comprehend how sibling relationships could be ruined by one person! I wish you'd been more informative. It would be pure speculation to sincerely, adequately, answer your question.

I don't think about it because I feel everyone is entitled to dislike me. If I have given them a reason then I feel instead of holding grudges we should be able to talk like adults, and get to the root of the problem. If it can't be fixed then, I say the hell! with it. You are not going to please everybody all the time, and in the words of my mother "people hated Jesus so what makes you think you are above people hating you" I feel family relationships can only be ruined if you let them be. Life has taught me that some people take the easy way out and sometimes it's just easier to be mad.

Let me say this from experience. My step children probably feel this very way, and with me being in they're shoes at one time in my life I tried to make them feel different in knowing that is not my intensions. But I refuse to watch my man being used by his own children. They ask and he gives. Well I did the same with giving until I realized that I was not receiving any appreciation for the gifts and things I was doing for them. Instead everytime the daughter sees us together she tends to have an attitude which causes me to get an attitude towards her and changes my whole mood. I have taken her out on a one and one dinner and she would not even talk to me during the whole and I have been in they're life since they were 3 and 4 the son loves me but the daughter I just don't understand. Now I just don't care anymore and I have stop trying. So everyone is not there to ruin family relationships. But you have to know that you will be in your parents shoes one day and will you allow your children to end your relationship. Because they are not getting the attention they use to get and is upset cause now they have to share. I say get over it.

Men forget about what the meaning of DATING is. Dating is to date someone to make sure that this person is going to be the one. There are signs before the marriage that men/woman chose to not seriously look at, But a married man is suppose to stick up for his wife weather she right or wrong and woman the same. So really look at signs while dating. I love both families.

Wow. This is exactly what happened in my own family. It's me and my two brothers. My two brothers were always very close. Along came Marina who married my brother Tim. Marina was very possessive and was jealous of the relationship Tim had with his brother. She did everything in her power to create friction between them. Unfortunately my brother Tim was easily swayed, even though it was obvious what was happening. To make a long story short, Marina won. She now has total control over my brother Tim who no longer participates in any of our family functions - only HER family functions. It hurts me, but it devastates my other brother who really lost his best friend. What do I think of men that marry women that hate their family and ruins sibling relationships? I think they're weak little men who never had the balls to stand up for themselves.

Funny why a man would be attracted to a women of that magnaturde. Perhaps the family feeling wasn't as strong as he thought. Perhaps he rejected the family because he wanted to be free. That will defenetly affect the marriage later on.

I think they're weak, and they'll regret it. My husband was married to a woman for 38 years who wouldn't "allow" him to see his own parents, sisters, brothers and closest friends. They only interacted with people she felt were "good enough", because of their jobs, homes and financial standing.

When I say "allow" I mean that if he did spend anytime with these people, she'd make his life hell, and finally he just started giving in to her wants/demands. Once you give in to a controlling woman like that, it's very hard to stop.

He left her three years ago after she attacked him physically (she was arrested and charged with 6 counts assult which she plead guilty to). Although his three sons have had a very hard time with their parents divorce, his siblings and friends, are overjoyed that he has been able to reconnect with them.

Sadly, his parents both passed away before he saw the light and left her. He refuses to talk "trash" about his ex to his children, so they are a little confused as to why he left.....

Long story short....don't let anyone control your life, you'll be miserable in the end for it!

I don't know what kind of person she is, but I know when I started dating my now-husband, I had all sorts of trouble with his family. It seemed like they hated me right off. They thought that I was just trying to use him for his money, & it's really funny, because everything we have now, my family helped us to get. So, who was using who? Sometimes, people have such different personalitites, that they just have a hard time getting along!
