The biggest problem that I see with the cyber-debate we have here is that the average citizen is not very informed. People love to name call and shout bumper sticker slogans, but really don't research the issues in order to develop a full understanding and thus have an educated opinion.

People need to see all sides of an argument and actively listen to those with different opinions, not talk over them, so to gain a better understanding of how people view a subject. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, and if you incorporate real facts (not crap you heard someone say at work) your opinion will have merit and others will listen to what you have to say.

The old cliche says it best,
"It is better to be quiet, and be thought of a fool,
Then to open your mouth and remove all doubt"

We can all get along, but some won't, not now not ever. Some don't see political divisions as a good thing, a check and balance, but see it as "I am right, all you (libs/cons) are evil/against America/yada yada yada."

Most make wild generalizations and blanket statements with no empirical proof or references, and when they do have references it's like wackynuts.org or kill'em-all.net.

It just goes to prove my favorite point...... We need to spend more money on education in this country!

I wish.

I sent Yahoo a copy of my latest blog about Yahoo Answers and this category, specifically.

It's almost a total waste of time to try to conduct an intellectual discourse in here.

Yes, I think that everyone thinks differently. It doesnt make anyone person more correct than the next. These are opinioned answers. I come on here to offer my imput on any given subject. I feel if it was important enough to ask then its impotant enough to get many answers!

PS keep in there!!

I wish this were possible. When people have no answers and little inteligence this usually results in name calling. Sad but true.

Yep, you try to ask serious questions and all you get is bigoted responses. It is the same with our government though. Everyone is more concerned with putting down the other side then they are with getting something done.
