Some auto detailing shops use an ionizer to kill odors at the molecular level. They would put this electronic gizmo in the sealed cab of the truck for a day or two. Can't guarantee it would work on diesel fuel odor, but you might phone a few shops for advise

I'm going to guess that you cannot. Maybe someone will offer some suggestions - leave the windows down, let lots of sun in, for two - but you may have to replace the carpet. JC Whitney and some other places will be able to sell you carpet.

sprinkle some coffee granuals on the carpet then vacum them up in a few days. Do not get the coffee wet or it will stain!!!

A solution of Oxyclean and water (1 to 4). Let it dry to a powder and vacuum it away. It worked for me.
