How does Fayed know that Jack Bauer was still alive, I doubt that the american government would have published anything about him faking his death at the end of season 4 or that the chinese government acknowledge they are torturing an american agent. How did he find out?
Also was Mandy, the assasin ever killed i cant recall?

No the government kept him dark that way no one would find out about him being alive, only a few where told about him being alive....nice try

They never really come out and say that Bauer is a Chinese prisoner, but if Fayed delved into his past, he would more than likely be able to put a plausible scenario together. Bauer is wanted by the Chinese and then inexplicably disappears off of the grid. Fayed may not have even known that Bauer was in Chinese custody, only that he was alive (as a number of people found out in season 5) and demanded that the US Government produce him regardless of his current whereabouts
Logan makes a good point in season four: "It's difficult to shoot down Air Force One with one of our own bombers, but they managed to do that!" Anytime you think that information would be difficult to get, refer to that.
Also, Mandy was granted a complete pardon and released due to her cooperation in finding Habib Marwan
