This is a difficult question to answer because your behavior depends on what is accepted in your school. You may work in a place where the teachers are very professional and they act as if they are in the business world. You may work at a school where the principal does not care if you wear jeans everyday and is relaxed about school policy.

The same goes for your students. The way that I can treat my older students is different from my newer students. Just as the way that I talk to my older students is different from how I talk to the younger ones.

So, the most that I can tell you is to observe the administration, faculty, and staff in the school. What is acceptable will become clear.

It is my thoughts that in an environment together we should all be able to have fun but at the same time you should be respectful that though we are in the same profession we don't have the same views. Thier is a time to play and a time to be serious you choose the time

We behave somewhat goofy because that attracts the kids and the kids look up to people they feel comfortable with.

be respectful of each of the individuals, speak to another teacher appropriately in front of students, even if you have a more comfortable relationship outside of school...act professionally no matte rwhom you are speaking to...
