The reason I ask is because I was injured on the job last week. I went to the doctor, filled out the necessary paper work with the doctor, and today I found out that my employer hasn't even filled out anything about the incident, even though I informed him I had been injured immediately after. My (soon to be former) employer doesn't have any safety programs in place, and he never offered any assistance after I told him I'd been injured.

I've never dealt with Worker's Comp before. Does anyone know how hard they'll go to bat for you if you're injured?

THE MONEY!

companies pay millions each year and get bonus back when they don't have any serious injuries. My Advise to you is "COVER YOUR @SS" pardon me. If your employer did not file papers and wsib takes your side they get fined, but it they favour on the companies side you look like a butt head and if enough amounts up you get the short stick and your employer make out clean. If there are any witnesses to your report get them on your side or take a micro tape with you and ask your supervisor (whom ever you reported incident too) to admit to your report. Sounds sneaky but it happens. There are people that get paid to figure out ways to get around paying for injuries, and it is all because some people abuse the system, so they treat every case as if your a lying cheat. Mean while those who have la-git cases wait and wait. If you feel like your getting a run around, you likely are. one more tip if they "offer modifieds" don't refuse or turn it down, even if they send you home show up and ON TIME! By the way don't quit your job if you can follow through with this and they may end up fined and shut down for their neglect of safety. There are lawyer that specialize in this look in yellow page get free consult.
Good luck. I hate companies that are more concerned about $$ than safety of those that earn it for them.
It's like playing a chess game...always have to be one step ahead of checkmate~!

i think of there must be stiffer effects positioned into place for employers that hire unlawful extraterrestrial beings. and that i don't advise fines, i'm speaking penal complex time and the shortcoming of components! this could help to place a end to the criminals (unlawful extraterrestrial beings, it fairly is a legal to breach American borders illegally) coming over right here. Depends, I have had a few claims over the years, most went without any hitch. But, I now have a claim for asbestosis and it has been going on for 5 years. About a year ago the specialist I see wrote a letter to the board and asked them why they are not accepting my claim. I spoke with comp a few days ago and they said it would be another month before they answered. So there you go. Take it for what it is worth.
