You should vaccum pretty soon. Because if not you'll have a bunch of "carpet-bunnies" everywhere! I've lived in my apt. for 9 mo. and we still have bunnies that come up

Vacuum as much as possible, when it needs it. You should look into shampooing, or steam cleaning your rug/carpet. The little bits of lint on the top that you vacuum up, is nothing compared to what really is underneath the surface that builds up after a good period of time. That's what really can get you sick and holds in odors.

Never heard of "waiting" to vacuum a new carpet. Vacuum as needed!!!!

If you have a medium pile carpet first"rake " the carpet to denote grain. Then carefully vacuum "with and against grain" with a very light appliance. True carpet care starts with respect for carpet construction and ends with "clean feet only" ever.Anything else is disrespect for the purpose of carpet.
