I read an article about the Ashley Treatment, and a few people wrote in the comments something about it being "(the word)"
I didn't know what that word meant, and I looked it up it meant something like altering the genetics. I think it was genetics with a prefix.
Does anyone happen to know what I mean and help me?
Thanks!

Eugenics refers to selective breeding, and refers to efforts undertaken prior to conception, to create an "ideal" being in the decision-maker's opinion.. Dysgenics refers to, well, genetic cleansing, and is usually applied in a racial or ethnic context. Dysgenics is also applied to forced sterilizations and births. In the particular case of "Ashley", it could more easily be stretched to apply to her situation than Eugenics.

The comments in the blog were off-base, if they used the term eugenics for "Ashley Treatment". Morphogenetics could be more easily applicable to apply to that treatment.

Gene therapy is the most appropriate term for Ashley Treatment, and is not that far removed from a number of established and accepted medical procedures.

Chemotherapy could be applied under the umbrella of eugenics more easily than Ashley Treatment.
