Anger is just another human emotion and quite normal. But, when it goes out of control, it becomes harmful like any other thing done in excessive.. Excessive happiness, excessive sadness, excessive flirt.. all will ruin your world.. So.. Do not try to struggle with your anger.. try to control it with threshold limit(you see that varies also by person to person).. A certain amount of anger is necessary for survival.. You loose that and you are gone.. You will be taken for granted and no one will care abt you..
An anger can be supressed, expressed(in right way) and calmed. When none of the things work.. it hurts you..
You should try anger relaxation strategies like breating deeply from diaphragm(breathing from chest won't help you), or slowly repeat words like "relax", "Take it easy" etc., imagine something which feels you good..
You should not use words like "always" or "never" as these erupts anger.. Get it in your habit.. Try to think that being angry will not help you or solve the condition.. Make this as your common sense logic.. Note that anger is in your habit and these things you do will slowly change your other habits will be subsequently supress anger..
Try to avoid getting on conclusions quickly.. Always assume that it might not be perfect what you are thinking of this situation..
Try to keep a track of number of times you are getting angry.. This would help you checking whether you are improving or not..
If even it does not work.. take some professional counselling.. This will surely help you.. Good Luck!!

Wow, girl! Slow down and chill out! Do something productive with all that energy. When I'm upset I tend to clean like crazy... .it helps. You could also go for a walk... or run, draw, sing, dance, exercise, cook (well, maybe not... could be dangerous, with the utensils and all). Just do something besides dwelling on your anger. Drink some water, not alcohol or caffeine, which will make it worse. Have a snack. Don't drive, that could be bad. Anyway, hope you feel better soon.

Find something physical to do and channel all your energy into it. Like since it's snowing around the country right now, pick up a shovel and shovel walkways. Or, if you are in an area where it's icy and rainy, just run in place, skip rope, something that channels that energy physically. I do strength yoga and follow it with prayer. It works for me. Sometimes, I just count backwards from 100 very slowly and if that still hasn't calmed me down I do it again, and again, and again. Good luck.

Breathe in deeply, then hold that for 14 seconds, then breathe out slowly. Repeat this for about 4 minutes. You'll be in a deep meditative state of calm by the time you're finished.

exercise quite strenuously; dancing works well, along with jogging, and other aerobic type activities. afterward start meditating a lot, and continue to exercise regularly. why? both help to keep you emotionally balanced. also, very important, try to figure out how anger arises; what generates it? do you take things too personally, are you very judgmental, do many things make you fearful, etc.? check out *the complete idiot's guide to toltec wisdom*. it explains what being human is all about, and how to deal with the issues that tend to drag us down, so that we can overcome such challenges as fear, resentment, anger, etc.;-) good luck!

Vent yourself through whatever talents you have. Or try meditating, and realize that what your in is just a moment, and it too will pass. If you realize how finite things are you can focus on the important things, and those that are trivial will seem more insignificant.

Figure out what you're really mad at. Another person? Yourself? Something in the past? A desire for things to be a way that they simply can't be? Someone who simply wants to do/be something different than you want?
Once you really know what you're mad at, you'll knwo how to deal with it.

The best way that I've found to vent and kind of anger is creatively. Find something that you're good at and take advantage of it.

breathe! take deep breaths in through your nose...make a snoring sound in the back of your throat when you do this...breathe in for a count of 5 or 6...hold your breath for 2-3 seconds, and then breathe out your mouth...exhale for LONGER than you inhale...a count of 7 or 8....let your lips totally relax when you exhale...correct breathing is the number one BEST way to calm down and feel better.
don't breathe through your 'chest', but through your stomach...your diaphragm.
