Debit because it is your money and you dont have to pay any intrest on the money, the only thing to worry about with debit is the fact that if you have a Visa connected with your checking account you have to be careful not to cause your account to go into over draft, the fee's are monster's.

Most of the time debit but on certain things credit. For example food=debit shoes=credit.
