First of all...find out what Vons policy is on giving references. Many companies have a policy of giving very little information to new employers...such as date hired, date terminated, and salary. Call HR at Vons and ask.

If Vons won't give out much info then you can likely say anything you want to. For example, you could say on the application that the store was closed or that management decided that there were too many workers at the store and that you and two other people were let go because you had the least senority.

Give a very short and very simple explanation. People get fired all the time and then still find jobs...you will to!

Unless you have to disclose it don't. But, your prospective new employer will likely contact the last employer you had, so it may be wise to be truthful.
I would try not to draw it out though- like "they said i did so and so, but i didn't" just state that you were terminated for whatever reason and that the feeling was mutual, you have learned from the experience and now you would like to move on.
definately do not say anything to indicate you may have been a problematic employee who had unresolved issues with your former employer or they will view you as a complainer or troublemaker.

It depends on why you were fired. If you were let go for reasons beyond your control, such as the manager thought you had a bad attitude, then I would put "Let go for reasons outside my control."
The hiring manager will ask you to explain further, and you can tell him or her what happened.

However if you were fired because of your own wrongdoing then I would not put this job on your application at all.

It depends on why you were fired!

Just say irreconcible differences between yourself and the management. If your new employer asks, just say that you were being bullied and that the management refused to take any action.

But, bear in mind, any new employer will ask the store for a reference!!!

Ignore Mr. Lahey, if you don't put it on your application any prospective employers will view it as your are being deceitful. Write down "will explain at interview" in the place where it asks why you left.

you don't have to list every job you've had

if you've had another job since that one,
there's a good chance your prospective employer
won't contact management at vons.
therefore,
your "reason for leaving" vons can be vague...
--transportation issues
--returned to school
--family issues
--health issues
--wanted more time to look for better job
--new job offer...but it didn't work out...(if you didn't get another job w/in a week)
--business downsized
--job was seasonal

could better help w/the wording
if i knew actual reason for dismissal

g'luck
