There are bound to be hint guides every where, but the book should give you samples too. The basic idea is to use each number from 1 to 9 only once per line - to the left/right and up/down. You also only use the same numbers once per square block of nine (the page will be marked kind of like a big tic-tac-toe board) with 9 big squares).

The idea is to use deduction to figure out the only way that all of the numbers can fit in the grid and still meet the rules I mentioned above.

The games are fun! You can also play the game online for free and it will either have hints on what numebrs go where, and won't let you put the number in a place if it won't fit. It helps if you are learning to play.

There's no math involved.
The grid has numbers, but
nothing has to add up to anything else.
You solve the puzzle with reasoning
and logic.

It's fun. It's challenging. It's addictive!

this is the simplest way to explain it....in each game each 3x3 grid, each horizontal row and each vertical row have to have the numbers 1-9 in them but only once. it can take awhile to get the hang of but when you do it is so much fun!!!
