The least expensive sities to live in are:
Baton rouge, LA
Pasadena TX
Mobile, AL
Lubbock, TX
Shreveport, LA
Ocala, FL
Biloxi, MS

This does not just mean the lowest real estate costs, but also takes into account property taxes, heat/ac cost, and state income taxes.

Based strictly on Real Estate cost, syracuse NY is #3. When the other factors are added in, it drops out of the top 10.
