Dudek707 is another victim of the English media hyping their own. It happens in every sport in England. If ye're rugby team played to it's full potential it would still not be as strong as France, Ireland or Wales.
The fact is you are living off memories of winning a poor World Cup competition 4 YEARS AGO. Now i know holding onto what shred of success ye're achieved in the past (1966) is a common English trait but until you learn to accept your crap at the moment and need to take the losses to build a new squad you will go nowhere.
2 years before Wales won the grand slam they got the wooden spoon, but they had vision. They didn't go backwards to 'old stalwarts' to shore up their weaknesses, they moved on and developed their own new and exciting brand of rugby. Ireland did the same and the Scots and Italians are in the process at the moment.
What chance do they have, not a huge pile this year.. but if Ashton has some vision, they might be a force to reckon with in 2-3 years.
The Heineken Cup is now showing how weak England are, with Irish, French and Welsh teams dominating the competition.

Both France and Ireland are looking at the World Cup with a view to winning it (providing the awesome All-Blacks slip up), Wales can catch anyone on their day but England need to write it off as a competition to win, and use it to blood some fresh talent.. as they need to do next month too.

Dudek707 wrote, they've lack creativity on the wings, poor offensive strategy, and lack physical defense.
This means they are a crap team.. not the have a few issues to resolve. and then went onto say ' if they play like they did in 2007' That's rubbish, the big mauling forward game won't get you anywhere anymore.. again.. this is lookin back.. get a bit of vision mate!

For the record, i'm Irish!

As an England fan I hate to say it, but not too much! We have the players, but all the rubbish that is going on over their heads and the poor coaching and management decisions are affecting the play on the field some how!

England need to use the six nations to rebuild another world cup winning side that is all that matters.

If they play to the potential of the talent on the England squad then I say they would win undoubtedly,BUT they seem to lack creativity on the wings, poor offensive strategy, and lack physical defense. If they do as they did last year; no chance. If they play like they did in 2003; unless the French get the best of them; sure winners.

The odds of them playing like they did in 2003; extremely unlikely

England have as much chance of winning the 6 Nations as we have of finding Lord Lucan.

I think that it will be between Ireland, France & Wales.

Probably not much, but who knows? One good result early on could give the team confidence and lead to better things. I think it'll be between France, Ireland and maybe Wales though.

I'll give them a nice, round, wooden spoon! But then again I am Welsh. 2 wins though, Italy and someone else.
