People will tell you that the Ivy League schools are the toughest to get into -- especially Harvard, Yale and Princeton. But I think Stanford is just as hard to get into.

MIT and Cal Tech are also extremely difficult to get into.

Basically, any school in the top 20 will be extremely selective.

However -- the hardest universities to get into are :

1. The Coast Guard Academy
2. The Other Service Academies.

It is a little strange that the Coast Guard academy is harder than Wet Point and Annapolis -- but it has fewer positions available.

The last list I looked at said MIT. The second was Princeton, and the third Harvard. As much as people don't want to admit, Harvard has really been slipping...Princeton's ahead of them now, and is really, honestly, a better school...

However for engineering i think its MIT, UCB, Stanford
