The engine won't turnover but sputters like it will when I give it some gas. If I am only getting a half a volt DC, than how is it that everything else will turn on?? My lights?? Stereo?? etc..etc..

You're doing something wrong. Half a volt isn't going to run anything. I've had many times when I've looked for non existent problems because a test lead on my volt meter was bad. A low battery in the meter can make it work wrong too.

You have no idea what you are doing or talking about. If it won't turn over it can't sputter. When you turn the key and the engine cranks it is turning over but not starting. A 12-volt battery should have 12-volts not 1.2 volts like some people may lead you to believe. I think its time to put away your DVOM (digital, volt,ohm,meter) and call a professional auto technician.

Battery sounds weak, as a 12 volt battery should read 1.2 volts DC when fully charged. Have you battery checked at any national auto parts store as they will check for free.As well as charge it if necessary.

.5VDC=DEAD

Remove the cables, clean the connections THOROUGHLY, recharge the battery, reconnect the cables.

If it still wont turn over, get a new battery
