ExxonMobil became the world's most successful business in terms of profits last year. How on earth can a large international conglomerate maintain its position? By expansion into untapped supply fields, like Iraq. Large petroleum companies must continuously endeavor to snatch up lucrative contracts to explore and exploit natural resources. These companies are currently doing that with the Iraqi government. We all know, of course, this could never have been done with Saddam in power.
