Not as often as i should or even as often as I use to. I have a electronic thesaurus and from time to time if i come across a word that I don't know the meaning of, or not sure, I will check it out on the thesaurus. You are right knowledge does equal POWER!!!!

Whenever I see or hear a word I don't know, then I look up the meaning, alternate meanings and origin, if I have the time. I also love maps, when I hear of a place unfamiliar to me, I'll look in my atlas. Knowledge equals freedom (of the mind).

Did you know the longest word in the english dictionary is pneumonoÂultraÂmicro scopicÂsilicoÂvolcan oÂconiosis (written without any spacing) a 45-letter word supposed to refer to a lung disease contracted from the inhalation of volcanic ash, but research has discovered that this word was originally intended as a hoax.

I bought a desk calendar with that specific theme : Word-A-Day.
I do some creative writing on the side, and I am often struggling for the perfect word. One's vocabulary can never be too big.

I read a lot, so almost everyday. I am fascinated by words and languages which is why I have a B.A. in English, and am working on an M.A. in British and American literature.

I'm not English speaking, (I know some of you probably picked that up along all the bad grammar...) so I annoy my English boss by asking her what the big words she uses, means on a regular basis... Wonder why she's not really talking to me any more???
