You'll be luck to get 60K per year unless you've got at least 6 years + experience in a specialised field - such coding graphics engines in C++ - and have managed to make a name for yourself with some high profile success stories.

Go for A+ certification to start with:

That will get your foot in the door, most likely on 15-20k.

You should start at your local community college. There you can narrow down your ideas to what it is you really want to do with computers. Do you want to build computer test equipment or manage a network or code websites or ?
You are most likely on the creative side. Computer animation is fun and since you are a DJ, you understand timing, a very important factor that makes great craft. If you like the coding aspect of computers, you could go for the animation and visual effects programing degree.

GOOD LUCK!

I have twenty-six years of data processing experience and I can not get a job that pays 60K per year. Maybe you should ask - How can I augment my DJ experience with computer training such as A+ certification?

You will NEVER see $60K in IT. You cannot compete with people in India or other developing countries.

Look elsewhere, information technology is completely screwed now. I'm going into building systems engineering, which has a strong local market and does not lend itself to overseas outsourcing.
