OK the easiest thing I know of to find out when you're ovulating is to take your temperature every morning before you get out of bed, the resting temperature. when you ovulate it will go up by a few degrees. I have just started doing this for my second child (hopefully!) because it worked with our first after a year of trying, we were pregnant within 2 months.

I keep a diary by the bed and write the temp down every morning from a digital thermometer then i have a record of what the temp was and i can see easily when its raised.

Also, going at it like rabbits can be a bad thing, because your hubby will use up his 'reserves' so to speak. so make him wait a few days or so, that should build him up a bit and once you know when you're ovulating you can work out when the serious baby making is a go and when its just for fun!

good luck!

In a perfect 28 day cycle, where day 1 is the first day of your period, you would ovulate on day 14. If you have longer cycles, you will usually ovulate 2 weeks prior to the start of your period. You don't actually ovulate over a number of days, but your chances of conceiving are greatest for the 5 days around that ovulation date (2 days before, the day of, and 2 days after). If you're using a urine test kit, read your directions to make sure it's not different, but what you should be looking for is a peak in the LH hormones (when the test line is its darkest for the month), which will indicate you are about to ovulate and should do the bulk of your trying that day and for the next few days.

Good luck

Every woman is different from the other. We can't state rules that are valid for every1. Also you are not a girl anymore (nor am i) and our bodies change with time. I will advise you a way to find out the day you are ovulating.

Every day in the morning, before you come out the bed (the best time is as soon as you open your eyes) check your body temperature. It should be the same every day. On the day it increases 0.2 degrees celcius, you are ovulating. This is a very good method. Best of luck!

Your age could definitely be a factor in how long it takes, so try to keep that in mind.
You generally ovulate 14 days prior the start of your next period (this is only really helpful if you have a fairly regular cycle). Around the week-10 days of ovulation have sex every other day. Every day sex actually decreases your chances of getting pregnant because it'll deplete hubby's sperm count. Good luck.

Mum of 8......
The best time to concieve is days 13-17 that gives you a window. The usual is 14-16 days from the first day of your period. You have to remember that sperm can survive in the body for up to five days from intercourse,so aslong as you catch the 14-16 day point, then you should have a good chance of getting pregnan....Also 36yrs old......Good luck.....
