In order for this to happen what must take place on sunday? Can they win with an average game on offense?

Well, they do have a chance. They have a decent offense and a potentially excellent defense. I do not think the Bears will win but this is what would have to happen this Sunday for them to win.

They will have to do better on shutting down the running game. They were not able to slow down Alexander so they have to stepup because the Bush/McAllister 1,2 Punch will be very difficult to defend. Also they need to move to tighter coverage. If Hassleback found a few holes in their secondary, Brees will surely find holes.

Secondly, Bears need to be patient on offense. They will be able to break a few BIG plays. But they need to learn how to control the clock. The Bears have to win the time of possesion game. The team that does this is usually the team who is very efficient converting 3rd downs.

So if your a Bears fan, good luck!

They definitely have a chance at getting to the Superbowl. My husband and I are both huge bear fans, and he always says any team in the NFL can win or be defeated on any given Sunday...it all comes down to who brings their game and who wants it badly enough. The four teams that are left now all have a shot at winning, despite what some people might say or think. No matter what the matchup for the superbowl should be interesting.

Naw Even Though I'm A True Florida Fan, Rex Grossman Is Gonna Mess Up Somewhere. NO Saints Goin To The Superbowl

Sure, they can get to the Superbowl, winning it is something else. If they don't turn the ball over (Rex, I'm talking to you) and they can stop the run, they've got a very good chance. Home field advantage should help too. Plus, they're pretty good at pulling even poorly-played games out of their a** for a win.
Go Bears!

Not sure. Lots of people are saying that the whole thing is going to be rigged for the Saints to advance. If that's true, if the Bears O shows up on Sunday, the officials will do to Chicago what they did to Philly, call bogus penalties to either push the ball back or to rip off Chicago from any game breaking plays.

I think they have a chance, but not a good one.
I have to compare Rex Grossman's inconsistency to that of Eli Manning, my QB.
I think Eli is a helluva lot better than Grossman, but Eli still does stupid things at times. Grossman has had some pathetic outings at QB, but if he plays well, theyll win.
If he doesnt, ............well.........

Its not like the Colts, where Peyton, even with a rare lousy game, can still win. Grossman isnt in that league, and the D wont be able to stop the Saints with Grossman playing badly.

They have a huge chance. They are at home and all they need is thier Defense and another offensive game like sunday and little more Cedric Benson

I think they do. Grossman looked OK on Sunday, but it was against a very beatup secondary. So he probably won't put up the same numbers. They just have to play smart turnover free ball and they should win.

Anytime you're in the Conference Championship and playing at home you have a legit chance to make it to the Super Bowl.

I don't think they will though. Grossman is no McMahon, and Jones/Benson/et. al. is no Walter Payton. The D is good, but getting tired. Saints are on a roll right now.

Of course, defense wins championships. If Rex Grossman can play like he did against Seattle, maybe a little better, the only real task would be Lovie Smith outcoaching Bill Bellichek.
