The exposure to UV light on a sunbed should not do anything to the milk, except possibly add a little vitamin D, since the skin makes this vitamin in response to UV light.

However... Tanning beds are associated with an increased risk of skin cancers!

First of all with 5 children of my own all breast feed for a couple of years I to tried the tanning bed it dry's up your nipples and cracks them then when you try to nurse it is very painful and if you tan alot then yes it can dry up your milk. I would go in with bra on and milk pads in bra to protect your milk and nipples if you tan alot or would not tan like i did I had to wing it out each feeding and use the nurseing oitment for cracked nipples and ice before feeding it is very painful and can dry up your milk if you are going right after baby is born I went like 6 months after baby was born fact is wait til milk comes in good and strong before tanning it can dry it up!!! Hope this helps! GL God Bless and Congrats and no it does not harm baby.

It would be fine. The only reason pregnant women shouldn't use it is because it gets so hot it could hurt the baby. Just because you are breastfeeding, doesn't mean you can't DO anything until your baby is weaned. UV rays cannot damage your milk, just the same as laying in the sun won't.

I asked the same thing of my OB-GYN. I was told "no" the ulraviolet rays in a tanning bed would not contaminate mother's milk. However, the heat from the bed may cause it to "let down".

What a bad habit! UV is bad for you period, try a spray on tan or venture out into the real world a little at a time if you must bake... remember sunscreen though.

I wouldn't risk it to be honest, why bother, you wont be breastfeeding forever.

Sunbeds will make you age faster, more wrinkles. Don't you want to be referred to as a sexy parent.
It won't poison your breast milk

It may cause leaking, but probably not drying up your milk. I don't see how it could hurt your milk. If you don't feel 100% about it, just don't do it.
