Yes it would work, but is not as viscous and is much more expensive. Fuel oil is about $1.60/ gal and diesel is about $2.60 per gal or more depending on where you live. also may burn hotter so be careful you do not damage your heater.

Yes, it should work fine. Diesel and #2 home heating fuel are nearly identical.

You can but transportation diesel has a lot more taxes on it. It's cheaper to use heating fuel.

it would be dumb as truck fuel cost more cause of taxes
