This website provides some great examples of what citations are, and how to use your citations. This is in MLA style, you may also wish to look up APA citations as well.

It means that in your work you must refer to at least 6 different scientific sources. How you cite them depends on your topic and your school's regulations, some prefer footnotes and other prefer directly citing your references within your text. In order to know how your teacher prefers things to be cited, ask, or look it up in the assignment guidelines or school guidelines. If you are in doubt, just make sure that you use the same method throughout. Do a yahoo search for APA-style referencing, which is the method my university preferred. You will learn how to cite internet sources, books, papers within journals, etc. In any case, as long as you are consistent with your style of referencing (unless you go blatantly against your prof's wishes) you will probably be okay!
Good luck!

You need to use a minimum of 6 resources for whatever you are doing for a project. To cite them, you write them in a bibliography. Here is a website that shows you the correct format to put each type of source in:

Good luck! I hope I helped.

Get an up-to-date copy of the abriged edition version of the Chicaggo Manuel of Style (aka "Turabian). Most bookstores carry it. For a quick online reference, just do a search for "Turabian Chicago Manuel" and it will give you some sites that have abbrieviated guidelines.

Most post-secondary profs require references to be done in APA or MLA format.

Whenever you use an idea, or quote from a source in your paper, include a citation beside the idea/quote in brackets.

at least six sources must be specifically cited within the text of your work (thereby giving you the difference between "works cited" and "works consulted".

There are several accepted methods, but some disciplines require one specific format.

You must use at least 6 different reference materials for your project, and this usually means a variety of quality online and journal and book sources.

You need to documnent at least 6 sources you used.
There are numerous citation styles. I'd suggest MLA, unless you are instructed otherwise.
