Yesterday while my girlfriend & I were on the BART train, a woman in her late 50's approached us waving a bible in our faces and ranting & raving about "God doesnt condone this" BLAH BLAH BLAH. We weren't even doing anything!! I was listening to my ipod and my girlfriend was resting her head on my shoulder. So it's not like we were having sex on the damn train. What was the point?
I politely told her to get the hell outta my face before my stilletto heel landed sumwhere she wouldnt like it to be.
What would you have done or what have u done in similar situations?

That would depend on what type of mood I was in. I can get very bitchy when I'm in a bad mood. If I was sitting next to you & I overheard that I would have said "Man wrote the Bible yes I'm Christian but people like you give me a bad name, now step back before you get hurt please" Thank you & have a nice day. Now if I was in a bad mood I would have said something like "Well I think you should be talking to your daughter because she had a threesome with(you & your girlfriend) last night & I don't think she'll ever go back to men

As a Christian I apologize for the actions of my Christian sister if she was indeed a Christian at all. Her actions certainly were not Christlike. Christ Himself did approach people in public places and forgive them of their sins but He did it discreetly. Remember the adulterous woman at the well? There was no audience there. It was just Him & her & He was not disrespectful or arrogant. I'm sorry you experienced this. I hope you realize it's not the way all Christians act. While I personally cannot condone homosexuality because God sees it as an abomination I do not hate you. I hate the sin. I'm sorry for the choices you are making that are leading you astray but it doesn't justify an attack on you. If I had been put into that position I think I would have been the bigger person and just said, "God bless you too, sweetie."

I am a straight male who strongly supports full rights for ALL citizens. I am also a straight male who is absolutely disgusted with these so called 'Christian' people who have declared war on homosexuality. I have gotten into heated discussions with these people often. I always ask them exactly what did Christ say on the subject. They usually respond with some passage out of Leviticus (which also says we should put anyone wearing cloth made from two kinds of thread to death) or the Old Testement. When I ask them again what Christ said on the matter they then refer to Paul (last time I read the Bible he is different than Christ. They don't seem to care that Christ said nothing about homosexuality or ending pregnancies but a hell of a lot about poverty.

Just think, if these so called 'believers' declared war on poverty(which kills) isntead of homosexuality (which is natural) we could probably beat poverty here.

Um, yeah. I would have did the exact thing you did if not worse. F*ck her age, if she's big enough to get in my face in harass me then she's big enough to take whatever I do, otherwise she would be sitting the **** down.

Now, ideally I wouldn't do that. I'd ignore her (I'm very good at it) and if she continued and invade my physical space I would tell her to back off. She continues.... well, lets just say I can't be held responsible for my actions.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell what exactly did Christ say about being homosexual. Funny how they can quote everyone BUT Christ. Not to mention the bible was written by man, who is not only born into this world with sin, but I wouldn't put it past some of them to try to write other things in their for their own benefit and propaganda.

I had a similar incident while at vacation at a friend's house. A group of them came upon us trying to convince me to join them. I looked up at them from chopping wood with the same face the Jack Nicholson made in "The Shining" as he broke through the door. With that face, I said "I am a Druid and we are having a black mass tonight. Care to join us?"

They took off in a hear beat.

In you situation, I would have told them, I am not interested and if you do not leave, I will have you arrested for harassment.

I have had to slam the door in the face of more then one Jahovas Wittness. There is no real way to be rid of them except walk away. Some of the religious freaks out there are in it for the money. We have one on my college campus that preaches at people and has a video camera on pointing at him at all times. His best trick is to start calling the women that are there with their boyfriends whores. All he wants is for someone to take a swing at him. Then come the lawsuits!!!
So what I am trying to say is DO NOT be confrontational. When you are dealing with a fanatic you cannot argue. you should have turned up the volume on your IPOD and competely ignored her.

I would suggest you will call the police if you are being harassed. It might help other people she is also harassing. I wouldn't threaten her, it might get you in legal trouble. I used to go through religious training, and they force the students to never take no for an answer. They say that God is telling them to do this, and you can show any extreme in God' name, so they push and push because it is part of their belief. It's why religions are becoming so annoying in our society.

I might have said something along the lines of:

Have you ever hear of "Love thy neighbor?" What is it about my resting my head on her should her that God doesn't condone? What was that verse again? "Thou shalt not rest thy head on the shoulder of the person of the same gender? " What if she's my sister, or my mother!? Would you be just as quick to judge me?
Are you without sin? Where do you get off ASSUMING you KNOW anything about us?

Just say: Thank you, I already know Jesus.

It works all the time for me, but hey, I don't wear stiletto heels, so I cannot comment on your 'fashion defense' tactic.

Of course, if you tell Evangelicals you are a Mormon or Jehovah Witness, they would probably run away, too!
