No. because our civil society is not strong enough. the global governance for environment doesn't has any binding force. make US ratified the Kyoto Protocol first. Then we'll see there's a hope in 40 years to come. The United Nations is only formed after the WW2. So wait until there's a global nature disaster that hit US the worst.

As nice as that sounds, 2012 is not in the distant future. We can't even get Iraq under control in 5 years, much less the whole world. Nice concept, but I don't see that happening. Maybe by the year 3012.

2012, not likely. a lot longer than that. universal govt wouldn't stop peoples greed and lust or other sins. nor does temperance and prudence sound like loads of fun.

Good luck with that. The only one government planet we are headed for is a Corporate government and corporate domination unless people stop being so complacent and stop giving their democracy away.

sounds like this awful idea is crawling with religious (christian particularly) ideology.
seeing how a.) church works so incredibly badly with the state, and b.) more importantly- the idea that the approximately 80% of the world who doesn't give a damn about you're beliefs is going to jump right on into it after thousands of years of not doing so is preposterous.
