Yes they do. To stay warm, they sometimes sleep in huddles, sharing body heat. You should watch March of the Penguins. It's very educational. And cute!

It depends on the species. Emperor penguins sleep standing up as do king penguins. They both hatch their eggs on their feet under a brood pouch. All the other penguins sit on their eggs in nests like other birds, some of them in burrows. They can and do sleep in that position.

When not on the nest, however, penguins generally sleep standing up as most birds do. With other birds we call it perching.
