to use the sims 2- open for buisness, or the sims 2- pets, do i have to buy the original sims 2 game and use that before buying any of the other expandsion packs. if that makes sense

Yeah, you have to install the original, which is in 4 cds, first. Then you install the expansions.
The expanisons are just like downloaded add ons. With the pets, they just write in the dogs and cats into the original cd installed in your comp. With nightlife, your just adding a odwntown area to your original neighborhood from the first game.
I love this game.

Yes you need the original sims 2, the expansion packs are for expanding the current features of the game.

yes! you have to have just the regular sims 2 before owning any of the expansion packs. when you have the expansion packs you will still have the same sims from sims 2 with the exception of a few new sims and a new neighborhood.

if someone u know has the original, ask if u can borrow it and then download it, THEN ur expansion packs! it should work then but if it breaks down or crashes or if u delete it you have to reinstall it and ur expansion packs again so its best if u buy it.

You cant download someone's game that has already been register to one computer. You best bet is to make a stop at Best Buy
