Call their offices and ask if they are accepting new patients--particularly newborns. If yes, ask if the dr has privledges at the hospital you will be delivering at. If yes, tell them you are pg, due in march, and would like to make an initial appt with the dr before the baby comes. Most offices do this free and if they hesitate then you probably don't want to use them anyway.
Here's a list of questions I would ask: pick and chose the ones that are most important to you http://www.babyresource.com/pediatrician-questions.htm

I have never heard of having to interview a pediatrician. I asked around and found a very reliable doctor, just by word of mouth, and he's a good one. Maybe this is a new thing, but like I said, I have never heard of it. You can call the drs. office and ask them about it.

Call and when you talk to the receptionist say you want to schedule an interveiw.
Ask about things that are important to you.

How do they feel about immunizations? (If you choose not to immunize you really want to know the answer)

Is someone available 24/7 to talk to at the office or on call?

You need to ask about how they do things, whatgoes on in appt, How often your child will be seen. Ask and give them time to tell you about themselves where they went to school, how long they have been praticing, ask to see their diploma, should be displayed. Everything you feel is important in a pediatrician.

i didnt know you had to interview them a couple weeks ago when i went to my OB/GYN she gave me a little notebook with a bunch of pediatrician's names in it, how long they went to school where they went to school and all that kind of stuff, so i dont really know about the interview thing but ask your doc next time you see him or her maybe they have a booklet like that. dont be afraid to ask them something either. you can usually tell by talking to someone if they seem nice or not. just call around and chat with them for a few mins. good luck

Any wellbeing practitioner properly worth his or her salt won't can charge you a dime for a preliminary interview and consultation. If the wellbeing practitioner you're assembly with needs money, notwithstanding if the rate might properly be coated by coverage, i might look someplace else. sturdy success.

ok well start with calling them, are you having a boy? if you are and you want him to get cirumsized see if your pediatrician will do that in the hospital. its easier if he does do that there. also i would ask how long he has been a pediatrician what schools he went to things like that. if you like him if you connect with him then you will have a good choice.
