Excellent answers so far guys... true patriots. Let's kick him on his policies and his stand points not his color.

It'll be sad if they do.

Personally, I don't care about his ethnic makeup and I'm fairly conservative.

What I do care about is that he was a state Senator, not a Governor and I would like to know more about his stand on several issues.

I already know he's pro-choice, so that's not a good start. Where he stands on issues such as immigration and alternative fuel development and implementation are highly important to me.

Bigotry is a vice that is endemic to both liberal and conservative camps, but I will give you that if one were to do a survey, the preponderance of racist sentiments would be on the right. Obama might be openly ridiculed by members of the Republican Party, on the basis of his race, but for the most part, people who are this vocal about the race of a candidate will be the backwater members of the party who exist on its fringe. True mainstream Republicans, the kind that hold sway over the party’s fate and action, won’t vocalize this hatred out loud, but will try to concoct other shortcomings of the candidate in order mask their true motive for disliking him. The best we can do as concerned citizens is refute their superficial reasons for not voting for him, so as to force, if possible, their true feelings in the open.

You can expect all bigots, regardless of political affiliation to come out of the woodwork. And it's also apparent that we'll see all the left wing race baiters start trying to make all in opposition to Obama seem like racists.

Yes but they have learned from the past to be more "clever" or subversive in their racist policies. Many from the Right will claim that racism doesn't exist and point to token republicans like Rice, Keyes. or JC Watts, they aren't fooling anyone, at least not here in the Blue states.

I'm sure that they will be in full flow. Fortunately, the bigots only make up about .01% of the rest of us conservatives. Skin color isn't the issue, background and experience are the issues.

I'm sure that the small percentage of loony lefties out there will be up in arms as well.

Several will be dusting off their pointy hats.

"Cleatus you better not tear my new Wallmart sheets" OH shucks Jaine jo Sue I can't go ta meet'un with them pokie dot ones.

The sad part is I am suspect of Obam's credentials and as the race card frenzies build over the next year. That will become un-PC.

I hope we can get Colin Powell to run. He is the only guy that has my respect at the moment.

Go big Red Go

No. Right wing bigots are confined to the far fringes. I don't think that many people care about his skin color. Many are criticizing his ideology & lack of experience. That is much different & totally legitimate.

Bigots are like spigots. You can't fix the old ones because they're rusty and broken. You can't do anything with the new ones because they're so tight they squeak with any pressure.

Ah, the mythical "right wing bigot".

It wasn't the right that depicted Condoleezza Rice as a "black mammy" or as Bush's parrot, complete with big stereotypical black lips, or who called her a "house *****" or who pelted Michael Steele with Oreo cookies, etc.

That was the left.

Our reservations regarding Obama are his political beliefs and lack of experience. It is only the left who cannot get beyond skin color.
