Excuse me? Surely you jest. They aren't even close to being the saviors of the human race, much less the hearth. Keep in mind that the majority of elected Republicans denied the existence of any major systemic environmental problem until it simply could no longer be ignore. Then they began to acknowledge the problem (once it had a new name, Global Warming). Even then they are divided as to whether we should take any action that might impact US industry. As though the ultimate effects of Global Warming will be good for business!!

The current leadership of the Republican party are having a difficult enough time being their own saviors.

Unlikely, though who knows maybe they will radically change the way they think . Democrats aren't there either. It will be interesting to see if a real leader steps up from either side. Maybe Obama will be it. Maybe Giulliani. I think somebody better step up soon or it may be to late

I can't see any way that could be possible.

Republicans don't want to do anything to protect the environment.
Republicans don't want to have anything to do with civil rights or equal rights.
Republicans only pander to the wealthy and elite.

All these things do more harm than good.

I guess so.

Is that why peace and goodwill are all over the place and everybody gets-along so nicely nowadays?
