okay we were just sitting in class when we started wondering if vampires can get aids or something from drinking blood, but they're already dead aren't they?

Vampires are a metamorphasis of mammalian lifeforms. The physical change to the vampire state is triggered by a virus, which alters the DNA of the infected person.

After the transformation, the vampire's physical consititution changes so that he can no longer digest vegetable matter, starches, or complex sugars, and the food most advantageous to his metabolism is fresh blood. Some recently become vampires have a distaste for drinking blood, but this aversion is overcome in time.

Myths about vampires are endless. They are not dead people. They can't turn into bats or smoke and fly. They do cast shadows, and you can see them in mirrors. However, they usually have increased strength and speed, and because of that vampirism is scientifically classed as a symbiosis instead of a disease.

Because the vampire virus alters the DNA of its host, vampires are not susceptible to AIDS, though they can be carriers of HIV if they ingest the blood of HIV positive people.

Yes, a stake through the heart will kill a vampire (just like it would kill anyone else). Bullets, whether lead or silver, can kill them, too. Vampires heal faster than normal humans, and so they are more likely to survive an injury that is not immediately fatal.

Vampires are more sensitive to the sun's ultraviolet radiation than normal humans are, and they tend to stay indoors during the day. Standing in direct sunlight causes them discomfort. Vampires have better night vision than normal humans do. Vampires don't have to sleep during the daytime, but they usually do for practical reasons.

Vampires are the immortal creatures of the night. They can not age or die by an human means. So, in a way a vampire can get aids by eating blood, but then they would regenerate and the virus would die.

Of course this is all theoretically, seeing as how vampires are a mythological creature.

Mythical vamps cannot get anything they are already dead. Plus, you cannot just get aids from drinking blood unless the person that you are drinking has aids. The point is that aids cannot be created from the stomach.

Vampires are demons taking up shop in a human host and demons do not have immune systems - which means there is nothing there for the AIDS to attack - so to make a short answer long - the answer is no.

I'm getting tired of this same question. No, vampires can not get aids. Their systems have an alcohol affect. It purifies every fluid that enters into it.

hmmm, vampires with aids, but that would create a kind of super vampire with aids!...no wait...well considering the 'science' built up around vampires, they don't have immune systems, so all they would do is transmit it...now the real question you should be afraid of is radioactive zombies...

nope, it's just a transmission thing too...

I thought sunlight or a stake through the heart was the only thing that killed vampires?
