only if you have a sli motherboard
Definition: SLI is short for Scalable Link Interface. SLI is proprietary to Nvidia graphics cards and is a method of allowing two graphics cards of the same model to be linked and share the load of rendering the graphics on screen. Using two graphics cards linked via SLI greatly improves the performance of the system by rendering the graphics faster. Often up to a 2 times improvement is seen.

Yes. In fact there are 2 ways to do it : the NVIDIA method ( SLI) or the ATI method ( CROSS FIRE), PROVIDE YOUR MOTHERBOARD ( your motherboard chipset, to be more precise) PERMITS IT.
Scalable Link Interface (SLI) is a method developed by NVIDIA for linking two (or more) video cards together to produce a single output. SLI is an application of parallel processing for computer graphics, meant to increase the processing power available for graphics. With SLI, it is possible to roughly double the amount of graphic complexity that can be handled by a computer just by adding a second identical video card.
The name SLI was first used by 3dfx with its Scan-Line Interleave, which was introduced in 1998 and used in the Voodoo 2 line of graphics accelerators. 3dfx collapsed financially and its intellectual property was purchased by NVIDIA when the company was wound down. NVIDIA reintroduced the SLI name in 2004 and intends for it to be used in modern computer systems based on the PCI Express (PCIe) bus. However, the technology behind the name SLI has changed dramatically.
SLI is the technological term used by Nvidia to illustrate this process whereas CROSS FIRE is the technological term used by ATI.
Note that the 2 methods I've mentioned earlier are not implimented in the same way- Nvidia requires an " SLI BRIDGE" to connect the 2 graphic cards internally (inside your casing) which will be provided to you when you buy an
"SLI enabled motherboard" , whereas ATI requires a special cable which will be provieded to you when you buy a "CROSS FIRE enabled motherboard".
To know these facts, you will have to consult your motherboard specification via the manual or by visiting its websites. By the way, I would recommend you the Asus motherboards. These are the best motherboards, be it for the INTEL processors or the AMD processors....

Yes, if your motherboard and video cards are designed for it. In fact, there are some motherboards that are anticipating linking four video cards.
I Assume you are asking because you want faster video. Realistically, if you had a motherboard and video card that did support adding a second video card, you'd probably know it because you would have paid extra for it. Given that you are asking the question, the answer is probably no, not in your current PC.
On the other hand, if you want the ultimate gaming machine then, yes, look for a motherboard that supports it and look into NVidia's SLI or ATI's Crossfire cards.

Technically, yes, but one would have to be deactivated. If you want a dual video card system you'll need to have a motherboard that supports SLI, and nvidia SLI capable video cards.

You can have one that came with the Mother board and then put one in using a PC slot.....the computer is smart and will shut down the one on the mother board and use the one that you have put in most of the time.......if it does not then go into the Bios and unable it..........

You don't want to do that. You need a dual-head video card.
