Do the following-
1. Connect your ipod to the computer and open up your itunes library.
2. Once you do that the icon of the ipod will appear on the left hand side of your computer screen.
3. Just click on the song and drag and drop the songs on the icon of the ipod.
4. Now, the songs are in your ipod.

Ok so when you connect your ipod you need to click on the name of it, once on this pge you can either:
1) check the box that states manulally manage music - ths means you just click and drag a song to your ipod
2) uncheck the box that states manually manage music - this means that every time your library is changed your i-pod is automatically changed ie when you put a song onto your library it automatically goes onto your ipod

i have too many songs to fit on my ipod so i manually manage my music library. i would recommend the same if you have a large library.
if you are manually managing the music collection, simply highlight the files you want to move and drag them to the ipod on the left side. you'll see a little plus sign as well as a ghost image of the song(s) as you drag them.
if have your ipod setup to sync with your music collection, any and all songs in your library will be transferred to your ipod.
i also prefer to manually manage my ipod to prevent duplicate songs from going to the ipod so if i have a greatest hits cd along with two studio cds from a particular artist, there's no duplication. then i may make a playlist to listen to a particular set of songs in a particular order...

Depending on the setting you put it on when you registered your ipod, it should automaticly upload songs. If that setting is not on, I think there is an options button at the botom right-hand corner of itunes that will let you enable that option, if you dont want that option, try seeing what setting its on to see what you need to do. Hope that helps!:)

you first have to make playlists with your song in them.

make sure you ipod is plugged in.

then find options and click the playlist that you want to be in your ipod.

it will automatically update from there.
