I ordered a Sony Vaio and sent in the $200 rebate properly. It is now over 6 months later. The first time I called they said the checks were delayed and it was just sent. The second time I called a few weeks later I was told the same thing. I asked what should I do if it does not come since I was already told this? He said "It is on its way" and would not answer.
It is several weeks later now and it never came. (not that I am suprised)
I have called several time but have been on hold for over 20 minutes each time before giving up to try to pursue this further.
I would like Sony to know about this also. I am willing to put some time into this but I do not know how to handle this.
I am so upset about being scammed. This has happened to me with rebates but in different ways in the past.
The rebate company is OnRebate.com
When I signed the rebate I supect they had some legalise to really get me if I were to file a lawsuit?
What do I do?
Thanks

The company I ordered the notebook from was also Tiger Direct.
I called again today. The first time it took 20 minutes, someone answered then switched me back to hold.
Later in the day I called again. Waited 30 minutes on hold without any answer then gave up again.

Report it to the BBB and the FTC as well at the attorney general in the state they do business in.
I did that when tigerdirect played these games with me, and following being contacted by their att. gen, they called me and sent the full rebate.
Just don't give up.
Also consider this, if everyone fights this type of crooked behavior, it will become too expensive for the crooks. And someone elses pursuing something like that, will benefit you, just as your fighting it and leaving tracks on their business will benefit others.

Even in small claims court, I think that you have to pay a court cost, so if Sony owes you $200, and you don't prevail in court, then you are still out the $200, but you are out the time you wasted on the lawsuit plus court costs. Is it worth it to you?
